Most of us have heard of the most sought after Air Jordan 11, the “Space Jam.” The color way was brought and made famous by the movie “Space Jam” which starred Michael Jordan in 1996. The Shoe’s first release was not until December 2000 and the cost of the shoe was only at $125. The Jumpman logo on the 2000 release was facing to different directions. When it comes to sneakers, one thing that really started trending was reselling. Nike has been known for many things, and one of those things is advertising. However, did they know that one ad campaign would be so controversial. The Nike+ Men Vs. Women Ad campaign was just that. It was an ad campaign that seemed to pit men and women against each other to see who could ultimately be the best. However the way these ads came across to many people just didn’t sound right.
For years many people didn’t even know Armour made shoes. This is something I still hear to this day. Better yet, they didn’t know that they even sponsored basketball teams. Under Armour really made themselves better known when they contracted Curry. However, 3 years ago in the 2014 March Madness they Sponsored one team out of the 68 that were playing.* I’m sure not many people knew that. However, how many teams do you think they sponsor today?
Adidas, like Nike, is a company that has many things that they sponsor. One of those many things being March Madness. In the past Adidas has been a company that only sponsored a few select teams. A few years ago they sponsored about 11 to 12 teams*. This yeah Adidas is sponsoring an all time high of 26 teams out of the 68 in March Madness.
Nike has been known for sponsoring many sporting event in the past. This march like every March in the past is holding March Madness. Also, like every March Madness before this one Nike has sponsored the most teams. This year they sponsored 58% of the the teams playing. Thats 40 teams out of 68. However thats fewer teams than in the past.
